I am late to the party but this is a Fantastic idea! I am thinking of making a baseball themed quilt as a wedding present for a couple who are baseball fans but afraid the stitches will take so long I won't finish it in time. I would have to have it done in 14 months. I am a good sewer if I take my time (my eyesight compromises my skills so I have to look carefully and go slow).

Thank you for the fabulous instructions. I made my bed skirt out of unbleached muslin ( on sale YEAH!) and it looks fantastic. I used and old top sheet for under the mattress piece of material. I figured if anyone lifted the mattress to see the print sheet they were too nosy. My suggestion to others is to mark the mattress piece and the ruffle in same measured distances before you gather it. When gathering you can do short sections and end up with an evenly gathered ruffle. Thank you again !!!!

I cannot thank you enough for this informative piece. I have gone through 5 different home sewing books and not one mentioned options such as these. I have a dilemma in that I bought a house where a second full bathroom was added for the master bedroom. The problem is that where the shower/tub was placed is where the ceiling goes down into a slant. Apparently they added the bathroom to an area where an eave of the house is. Anyway, the curtain rod, which was custom made, starts off straight for 30" then goes on a downward slant for 36". There was a custom made shower curtain there before that looks like it seen better days. I tried to replace it with just an ordinary shower curtain that was not wide enough so I purchased two and put them together but that didn't work either because it buckled in on the downward slanted side, leaving the whole middle open. Using the old shower curtain as a pattern I purchased fabric and made my own. I was looking for alternatives to holes for rings or clips and love the idea of ties. I think I might be able to stop the buckling issue by doing that because I might have more control in keeping the fabric straight. It doesn't matter to me if it is stationary on the downward side as long as it stays in place. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will finally work. Thank you again for giving me some great ideas.

I made 14 of these baby blankets from the pattern on the ball of yarn in many colour combinations. I only need to follow the pattern for the first few rows and then again for the last few. Otherwise it is simple. You just have to remember that every second row you have to increase the stitches on both ends. The alternate rows you always have to pearl that yarn over stitch. Otherwise look at the stitches and you can tell whether to pearl or knit. Each row is opposite of the previous one. I usually can make one blanket in less than a week.

So glad to see one of your pretty projects again! The angled dining table looks so striking in all that great space.
I came across the real estate listing for the dream house you did on the show back in '98 and I'll be featuring it on my blog in a few weeks. My blog is If It Were Mine. It's where Zillow meets Pinterest.
The listing photos for the house don't make it look as attractive as I remember it, but hopefully the decorating inspiration I found for it lives up to one of your designs!
