Deb, I know exactly what you are talking about! I've been in homes with the same problem and because of the location of the ones I wanted to change I was able to do two different things. Above my breakfast bar in the kitchen I unscrewed the light bulbs and inserted two screw-in hanging mini pendants that I bought at Lowes. You screw them into the bulb socket and then attach a canopy that covers the hole and it looks like a chandelier or pendant has been there forever...that worked great. The second location was in a bathroom where I covered the large holes up with a piece of wood long enough to span the distance between the holes. It was painted and had routed edges and everything, and smaller puck lights could be installed on it. Another thought for the chandelier, are the large holes close enough together that one of those plastic or plaster round decorative moldings that go around the canopy of a chandelier would cover them?

HELLO MATT & SHARI! HOW GREAT!!! TO FIND YOU again! I watched your show from the absolute beginning on the brand new HGTV cable station back in 1992, and savored your show. With the advent of DVR's I recorded them to play back and watch on holidays, etc. and thought that you did what you did - with great care and thought. And made everyone's lives a bit nicer with decor and function all rolled into one. Learned a lot from watching! Now, I have an older home, we're renovating, ROOM BY ROOM! and we're updating a new bathroom. New, but 10 years old, with builder mistakes that we're trying to resolve. One thing was, they put in big holes in the ceilings with canned lights, while we wanted the smaller puck lights. We did not notice this until of course, they were done. We've lived with the ugly huge holes and awful eyesore exposed lightbulbs, and now want to do something about it. How do you go from ugly holes to tiny "puck" lights, and, especially over the tub, I wanted one beautiful chandelier in front of the windows-not over the tub, but they gave me, you got it, two ugly big holes, instead. Any suggestions? Thanks so much & I hope CT CPTV picks up your show, SOON! Best Regards, Deb
