Don’t like snakes or spiders! Live in Florida so I’m always looking around for something crawling around so that I don’t step on it. My dogs help a lot to keep snakes away. I especially dislike the coral snakes which I’ve seen too many times in my yard because they are poisonous. Right now we have a lot of lubber grasshoppers and those pesky love bugs.

We occasionally have snakes in our yard along with other critters. I usually just leave them be. The other day, we had a squirrel in the house who came in through the wood stove pipe and pushed his way out of the stove through a lift-out plate on the top. We really need to push a mesh guard around the pipe but we’re both too old to go up on the roof!

Well Shari….you are BRAVER than I am. Snakes are my phobia. I can’t even stand to see them on the Animal Planet or in photos !!

My daughter though a skunk was a kitty one time when she was very young…fortunately I caught her before she needed a tomato juice bath!

Yes, it was one of mine too, but honestly, I’m getting used to it. This is about the 5th or 6th snake I’ve had in the house, but thank heaven for my heard of cats….they keep them at bay until we can get them out!! One of these days I’ll tell you all my scorpion story….

snakes are very beneficial in the garden. I am startled when I see one but just leave them be, unless you have dozens! They eat crickets, mice, spiders, and other creepy crawlies that we do not want in our homes. They like to sun themselves and any swift movements are not attack moves, they are using a defense mechanism to scare you knowing that you are much bigger.
