Kid’s Flag T-Shirt from Rick Rack and Ribbon

amemorialshirt14

Perfect for all the summer holidays, this flag T-shirt can be worn with pride.  Pride in the good ol’ U.S.A. and pride in yourself for making it!

Of all the summer red, white and blue T-shirts we’ve made, this one is the most challenging because the pieces are so small.  I used the tiny sized rick rack because of the size of my blue polka dot ribbon and that made it difficult to hold the rick rack in place using a pin.  I ended up pinning one end and simply holding the rick rack in place with my fingers as much as possible.  Thus, in some places the rick rack isn’t straight. If you can find a larger stars ribbon or maybe use two pieces instead of just one, you can probably use the larger rick rack and it will be easier to pin, make straight and sew.

Just take your time and I wish you much good luck as you sew in the rick rack!!  Might be easier just to stitch on one of those small flags meant to be waved at parades!!  In any case, the kid’s won’t care!!

Here are a couple other designs you might want to try so everyone in your family can wear a different design! Check them out in our Kid’s Sewing section.

So, this Memorial Day, wear your red, white and blue proudly, wash it and keep it for both the 4th of July and Labor Day!!
