Green decorating and "green" design is the hottest topic going, you can’t pick up a magazine, watch a television program or surf the web without the word green being used.  Of course Shari and I are quite concerned about the issue as well and recently have been doing all of our trade shows with the title the “ABC’s of  Keepin the Green”.

During the presentation Shari and I discuss ways that you can be green around your home without breaking the bank, thus the "Keeping the Green". In fact most of us have been practicing green living most of our lives, it just wasn’t given a title.  We just thought we were being responsible.

An example one of the items that we discuss is in an article in this month's "around the house" section.  The article is called installing a motion-sensor switch.  This inexpensive item can save you a couple bucks a month by making sure your lights are turned off when you exit a room.

So we try to approach the subject by just using some common sense.  Over the next couple of months we will give you some of our advice on how to reduce, reuse and recycle.  This month we want to start out by giving you the websites that I have used to do most of our research.

We spent countless hours searching for sites that not only gave good practical advice, but seemed to be really conscious about providing good information and useful techniques without the final outcome being to fatten their wallets.

Please visit these sites when you have a chance and keep an open mind.  Remember,  just because it says "green", it doesn’t really mean they are practicing what they preach.  Do your own research and judge for yourself if these sites are doing what they say they do.
